Q: If the 300series is used beyond the 10 year battery life or the battery, for an unknown reason, fails, is all data lost?

A: No. When the battery voltage reaches its lower limit, the display shows both "BATT LOW" and the meter reading. For consumer confidence, any incrementing of the meter reading is inhibited although the meter will continue to function. The display, touchpad readings and serial port information will flag a low battery. The battery voltage is available at any time through touchpad reading or serial port.

The meter reading is written to non-voltatile memory every 24 hours so in the event of total battery failure, the last meter reading is available by returning the meter to Flownetix.
